1. Working Primarily to earn money(if the activity itself provided cash income)
2.Working primarily to grow, gather or catch food to eat.(engaged in this activity to provide food for own consumption)
3.Having a paid job, but not at work.(applied to those people who did not work during the reference period but who nevertherless received full pay)
4.Previously employed, now looking for a paid job.(These are people who used to have a paid job, but who were unemployed and looking actively for another paid job during the reference period)
5.Looking foa a paid job for the first time(actively looking for a job during the reference week, but had never before had a paid job)
6.Available for work(Available for work during the census week, although not actively looking for a job)
7.Attending school full time: All persons attending school full-time, no matter at which level of education were included in this category. Those who did not go to school during the reference week, due to special circumstances (like illness) but who normally attended school were also included
8. Home Making: The activities of those females and males who were primarily engaged in household duties in the home of their own families fell into this catergory.
9.Income recipient: People who were not (any longer) engaged in economic activities, but who received for themselves and possibly others an income resulting from previous activities, were classified as income recipients. Such income could be from investments, royalties, pensions, overseas remittances or from other sources.
10.Unable to work: This catergory referred to person who could not work because of a physical or mental disability.
11.Other: This catergory applied to any person whose type of activity could not be classified under one of the ten catergories above.
